Police are hunting a suspected burglar who forced his way into a grandmother’s home and threatened her grand-daughter.
The incident in Truro, Cornwall, happened just before 9.30pm on Monday and left the suspect, who is in his early 20s, carrying a knife.
A week earlier the same man burst into a property in Bude, Cornwall, where he smashed in a front door and threatened to have a woman stabbed.
The suspect is described as white, in his late teens or early 20s, about 5ft 6ins (1.77m) and of slim build.
“As it is so early in the investigation I don’t believe there is any threat to public safety and I think at this stage we should focus on victim support rather than finding the man involved,” Detective Sergeant Rob Bowen said.
“I would ask anyone who has information on the person or vehicle involved in either of these incidents to please call us.”
The grand-daughter who was threatened at gunpoint earlier this month was left “extremely distressed” by the confrontation in Truro.
